Hi all,

Sorry for the cross posting, I wasn't sure where best to as this question.

As the subject suggests I am trying to set up a trust relationship between
our office domain and a remote server that is on its own work group. I want
the remote server to trust the authentication on the local domain.

Is it possible to do this and how do I go about doing it?

Thanks,

Jamie.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

As Rob said, trusts can only be established between domains. However, there
may be workarounds depending on what your plan is.

Are users in your domain needing to access shared & files on the server? If
so how many users?

You could have the office server join the office domain.
All domain members are trusted by the domain. <g>
The standalone server (configured for a workgroup)
cannot trust or be trusted by a domain but you can
access the domain resources using duplicate accounts
or the "connect as" feature.
