Setting Up Security

I've created a database for a volunteer organization. I'm ready to turn it
over to the person who will be maintaining the data ongoing.
Question 1: can I set up security for myself as admin so that I can make
updates as needed but set him up so that he can only access what I want him
to? How do I do this? The Access help is useless.
Question 2: We don't have a server so I'm trying to copy the database to a
CD which he can then install on his pc. If I set up the security before the
copy, I'm assuming that the security will be retained when he copies to his
pc. Is this a good assumption?

Thanks!

Check the Security FAQ at
http://support.microsoft.com/support/access/content/secfaq.asp

Make sure you read it carefully several times, and work on a copy of your
database (just in case). Make sure you don't skip any steps.

As to question 2, you'll also have to give him a copy of the appropriate MDW
file, and make sure he uses it. If you've done your security properly, he
won't be able to get into the database without the correct MDW file.

You'd also need to set the file permissions since it will be read-only once
copied to CD. A regular data backup regime would be a good idea too.
