Setting up network/starting services

I am running Win2k and can no longer install nor uninstall
Dial-up or Lan components eg. Internet Protocol TCP/Ip etc.
Msg. access denied - there are no passwords nor user
restrictions on the computer.

In addittion I cannot start the following services-:
(a) Remote Access Connection Manager.......error #5
(b) Remote Access Auto Connection Manager..Error #1068
(c) Routing and Remote Access..............Error..NONE.

I started every other available service to ensure that all
dependencies were satisfied... no change.
I re-installed Windows .... no change.

PLEASE HELP....Allan

Verify that the following services are started:
Remote Registry
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)

Verify the following permissions:
-System account has full control to the \winnt\temp directory.
-System account has full control of the \winnt\system32\IAS
-System account has full control of the ias.mdb and dnary.mdb files.
