Setting up multiple signatures in Windows Mail

Penna

I have tried unsuccessfully to set up different signatures for the five email
addresses I use. These addresses are used for five different interests.
However I try I still get the signature for the default address whenever I
click "Create Mail." The default email address is shown, with the default
signature.

When I change the outgoing email address in the address bar the signature
shown is still the same.

So I tried to use the Insert feature by unticking "always use signature etc"
and clicking "insert" on the toolbar of the message. However the option to
add signature is always greyed out.

WHERE do I go wrong? Can anyone help?

Click the Advanced button for each selected Signature, and tick the
appropriate account box.

When you start a new email, Windows Mail always inserts the sig
belonging to the default account.
You may want to switch to Windows Live Mail, which uses the sig
associated with the currently selected account.

When you start a new email, Windows Mail always inserts the sig
belonging to the default account.

Gary, FYI, it defaults to the default sig, unless you set the account is
associated with to use on the Advanced tab of each sig.

In Windows Mail, that only works on replies and forwards, not new emails.

That is definitely not how WM works here Gary.

I have sig's set for 8 accounts, the others use the default.

I just tested the insert sig for all accounts in a new mail, and it works
OK.

ymmv?

That only happens if you have WM to add sig to all outgoing mail selected.
With the Advanced setting you have to use the insert button on the toolbar.

I wasn't talking about the manual "Insert, Signature" function.
I meant the sig that is automatically added (if so configured)
when you start a new email message in WM.

Since I use WLM for email, I never have to bother with the manual
sig selection.

How do you get WLM to use alternate signatures for an account
Tools > Options > Signatures >UN-check "add signatures to all out-going
messages ".
When I start a new email and click on "Insert", the "Signatures" option
is pale, not bold.
Put you cursor on the message body and click. The Insert Sig option will
turn active.

saved three signatures but WLM only recognizes the default signature.

Select the account for each Signature via the Advanced Button on the
Signature tab.
