I'm migrating to another ISP and will need to set up addresses for my new IP
and DNS servers. When I look at the properties for my current ISP in Network
Connections, these fields are blank, but ipconfig /all shows the existing
values correctly.

I seem to remember in the days of Windows 2000, I set these up somewhere
else, and network connection properties were always blank. However, I can't
find where this "somewhere else" is in windows XP. (Running XP Home SP2)

in most cases, you do need to assign ip, gw and dns. your ISP DHCP will do that for you. For more and other information, go to http://howtonetworking.com.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.

I recommend Brinkster for web hosting!
