Hi

How feasible is using a win xp pro machine as an ftp server from remote
locations? Are there any security considerations? Anywhere I can find info
on how to setup ftp server and clients?

Thanks

Regards

It would rather depend on how many connections you are expecting to
make. If you're just talking about offering some files to a few
friends, it would work. For more than that, well, I wouldn't choose to
set up an ftp server with WinXP, but that's my opinion, not fact. There
are *loads* of security considerations whenever you are offering
services publicly, and way too much detail to go into in a Usenet post.
Use The Force (Google). Entering the search term, "set up ftp server"
brings me over 3 million links, the first of which is a beginner's
guide to setting up ftp in Windows XP.
