Setting up e-mail

Hi - I'm using Windows XP for the first time, with IE6 running, all is well
apart from I am finding it impossible to open links from within e-mails. I
obviously have someting set up incorrectly. Can you help please?

You havent mentioned whether you are opening the mails in your browser or
you are using a email software to download and read mails.

I am giving an example. If you are using Hotmail the links are disabled by
default for the mails whose names are not on the user's list of contacts.
They are enabled when the user either

a. Add the sender's name to his list of contacts.
b. Click on the link 'Show content'

I am just giving an example and so unless you give more details about your
email account we cant arrive at a conclusion why your links are disabled.
