I've recently established an Internet Connection on a home network.
I can go on line and open web pages and all of that stuff, but recently I've
been wanting to create an e-mail account.
When I try to set up the account I have problems on witch option to choose.
All I want to do is to be able to send and recieve e-mail messages.
Can you give me step-by-step information on how to create an e-mail account?
I'd appreciate it.
I'm assuming that you want to set up an E-mail program like Microsoft
Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or Netscape Mail..
First you need to know the answers to these questions. Contact your
E-mail provider for help if necessary:
1. What is your E-mail address?
2. What is the password for your account?
3. Does your E-mail provider's incoming server use POP or IMAP?
4. What is the name of your E-mail provider's incoming server?
5. What is the name of your E-mail provider's outgoing server?
6. Does your E-mail provider's outgoing server require authentication?
If so, does it use the same settings as your incoming server, or a
different E-mail address and password?
Once you have those answers, you can set up your account. If you're
using Road Runner high-speed Internet, go to this page, click "Ask
TWC", type "set up e-mail" in box, and click Send"
http://help.rr.com/HMSLogic/selfHelpQuickLinks.aspx
If you're not using Road Runner, that page can still show the steps
needed to set up your E-mail program. This Comcast web page might
also help:

If you have questions after looking at those pages, please post a
reply in this news group giving details: who your E-mail provider is,
what E-mail program you're using, what you've done, what you're having
trouble with, etc. I'm sure that someone will be able to help.
