Setting up account on Pocket PC

Lindsey M

Hi everyone,

Don't know if this is the right newsgroup or what, but I'm having problems
setting up my hotmail on my pocket pc. In Outlook and Outlook Express, it's
done almost automatically but on my PDA, it asks for incoming and outgoing
mail servers and whether it is POP3 or IMAP4. Does anyone know what the
settings for hotmail are in this respect? I have emailed MS but no-one's
gotten back to me.........

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Lindsey

Copy of post from the PPC group:

Lindsey,

Could you think about cross posting in future, rather than multi posting? In
other words, I've seen your post here and also on the Outlook group, but
they are separate. That means that the people over on the Outlook group
don't know you've received answers here, and may be busily trying to find an
answer you've already got.

IMHO there's nothing at all wrong with cross posting to several relevant
groups, but keeping the posts separate duplicates the effort required by
others.

To cross post, just put all relevant newsgroups in the to box, and then all
answers will be seen by everyone on all groups.

If you're posting via the web interface, then I'm not sure, and what you did
might be the only possibility!

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Sorry for multi-posting - I wasn't aware that you could "cross post" and
will definitely do so in the future.

Thanks
Lindsey

p.s. it looks like i'm not going to be able to get my hotmail in Pocket
Outlook, using IE being the only option it seems - just an update on the
situ

)

You can't access Hotmail directly with the Inbox of a Windows Mobile PDA.
You must use Pocket Internet Explorer.

No problem. The only rule to be aware of really is to keep to relevant
groups.
