setting up a wireless network

Hi all, I hope someone can help me. I want to set up a
network (called LAN? VPN??) of two computers to share
files. I currently have the following: 2 computers running
win2000pro (one with Service Pack 4, one with no service
pack), and a shared dsl internet connection (using one
dsl/cable modem, one US Robotics Wireless Access
Point&Router, and one US Robotics Wireless PCI Adapter). I
would like to keep the shared internet connection and use
the same hardware in the new network . Thanks for any
help! (Please give fairly clear instructions :) )

Jeff
.
I have looked in the Help files and tried different
things. Can there be more than one way of having a network
in my situation? Things I've done:
- created shared folders, permissions, workgoups, on both
computers
- when I try to see my workgroup in Windows Explorer,it
doesnt show anything
- note that on the wireless-adaptered computer I never see
the "Share" tab when I open the properties of my "lan"
connection under the Network and Dial-up Connections. Why
is this??

Right now the wireless internet connection on one computer
(i.e. from wireless-adaptered computer to router) is done
through the Infrastructure mode...I am wondering if I need
to create a another profile running in Adhoc mode just to
have a network. If this is the case would I have to switch
modes to use either the internet or have a network. This
would seem not too convenient? In my case, do I need to
configure the router side or pc side software-wise? or
both? (My shared internet connection is running fine)

I know it's hard to understand what I am trying to
explain, but any (detailed) help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Then you need much more basic help than just sharing drives. Might
start with a search for information, such as Googling "configure
wireless home network" which would point you to:

And so on...
