setting up a window live hotmail to my windows mail

this just always pops up:

'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

what am i doin wrong

Port for pop3.live.com is 995, SSL in Advanced tab. Smtp.live.com is 25,
SSL. You do have a "paid" Hotmail subscription, don't you? Hotmail Plus,
some partner MSN, etc.

no. it was a free email. is that the problem?

Afraid so. You can pay $19.95 for Hotmail Plus, you can download Windows
Live Mail or you can get the Outlook Connector for Outlook 2003 or 2007 to
connect to free Hotmail accounts.

Why don't you just use Windows Live Messenger to access your hotmail e-mail
account?
