setting up a manual dial up, internet connection

Hi, i'm trying to help a friend to set up a manual internet connection,
(dial up), he uses NetZero, so he has an account with them. I have a manual
internet connection too, just for the fact that I don't want to see my
ISP(Earthlink) website and all their advertisemnt everytime i want to get on
the internet, I like it this way better,with the manual connection. My
question is when I set up mine, at the field where it ask me for my username
I have to start by typing ELN/myusername follow by my password. My question
is do I have to type the ELN/ thing too or not is this the standard format or
not. I will apreciate any coments, thank you very much.

That "ELN" thing; do you mean like "ELN/[email protected]"? "ELN" looks
remarkably like a monogram for "EarthLink Network", and I imagine it is
unique to ELN customers. My suggestion would be to try it two ways. Try it
with just the user name first; if that fails, try it with the domain, as
well. Or just visit the NetZero web site and check their Help, or FAQ
files.

You cannot set up a stand-alone DUN connection with Juno/Netzero. You need to use their software for you internet connection. Similar to AOL users.
