I recently had to re-install Windows XP on my laptop
computer to try to solve some problems I was
encountering. The re-installation solved that problem,
but now I have another problem I am hoping someone can
help me with.

When I go to the connection wizard to set up my internet
connection I cannot complete the process. On the first
display screen, I select the option "Connect to the
Internet". On the second screen I select "Set Up my
Connection Manually". However, when I get to the third
screen, I cannot select the option "Connect using a dial
up modem" because that option is not lit up or available
to be selected. That is the option I need to select to
complete the process.

What do I need to do to be able to select the "Connect
using a dial up modem?"

Is your modem properly installed?

Click on Start, right click My Computer, Manage, Device Manager

Did you reload the modem drivers?
If not load them.
From the Modem properties try to do a diagnostic on modem..
Does it respond?
