Setting up a home network - replacing router

mac

I have a home network setup using an 802.11 B router and three computers.
I would like to upgrade the router with a newer 802.11 G type.

If I "swap" the routers and set it up to connect to the internet, would the
new router recognize and pickup the existing network, or do I need to delete
my current network and set it up from scratch again once the new router is
in place. And should I delete the network prior to installing the new
router?

802.11b is a Wireless Device Protocol within your router. 802.11g is
backword compatible with b and a. Your new router will pick up the other
802.11b wireless pc cards but you must upgrade the other pc's with Wireless
G cards to take advantage of the speed increase.
