Setting up a DC at a Remote Site

H

Hank Arnold

We are in the process of planning to DCPROMO a server at a remote site. It's
the only server there and currently only servers as a file repository for
DR. The site currently gets all its data from our servers at the main site.
They are connected via a point to point T1 line. The same line also carries
VoIP. Each site has its own local NBX and voice mail (internal and
external). The only VoIP traffic is site to site internal calls. The remote
site is also on it's own subnet. The main site is 192.168.1.xxx and the
remote site is 192.168.100.xxx.

I'd appreciate any pointers and links that we can use to be sure that the
new DC is set up properly for this situation. Obviously, one desirable
thing would be for it to be the DC to provide login validations. DHCP isn't
needed since it is already being done via a local router and switches. DNS
is one question..... Obviously it should be a GC.

TIA
