Setting up a a table template to auto-resize cell contents

M

Michael

When working with a table in word, one can select the
table and then select Table/Table Properties/Options and
then check Automatically resize to fit contents. However,
I can not change this on a global level?

Specifically,

Table AutoFormat
New
Format
Table Properties
Options

The Automatically Resize to fit contents is grayed out.

So, how can one set up a template to auto-resize cell
contents?

Thanks,

C

That is correct. Unfortunately. This setting irritates me no
end.

However, I've always seen it ACTIVATED. Do you mean when you
insert tables it's automatically OFF? which version of Word?
