Setting the ruler to appear by default

I like to see the ruler in Word. For some reasason just recently it doesn't
appear by default and I have to switch it on through the View menu. Has
anyone come across this and if so is there a solution? I find it very
irritating to have to select this from the View menu everytime I open a file.
 
Yes. I have troubles with the ruler displaying too. Oddly, using W2003 at
home it is always shown, but at work using W2003 it keeps disappearing. I
turn it on and a couple of documents later it has disappeared again.

I am absolutely mistified.

Any suggestions anywhere?
 
Hi,

I work in a corporate environment with Word 2K3 and SP1. I have only one
user that is facing this problem. The rules disappear on its own, without
any pattern. The computer is rebooted each day and it doesn't change
anything. I went into the normal.dot template and the ruler is showned there.

Is there a glitch with Word 2003 and the ruler ???
