Setting for default gateway

I wonder why I can input any number into default gateway even is not same
network as the ip address?? and it will gets the MAC address from my router?

I am not certain I understand your question completely but maybe this will
help

You can set any gateway on an interface. If you put in absolute junk your
machine will still be able to talk to all the machines in its broadcast
domain (VLAN, Switch, Hub depends on how your network is configured). The
only thing it affects is the ability of the machine to talk to machines in
other networks.

Mac addresses are not obtained from routers. They are built into the card or
into software if you use technology like teaming or Windows Load Balancing.
