Setting file permissions (acl) with WORKGROUP server & XP Prof cli

I am trying to provide our users a way to change file/folder permissions on
public share on WORKGROUP server. ACL's are working fine (I could see
permission set my VISTA client) but the problem is to get list of users and
groups on server via Windows XP Professional (SP3). With my VISTA workstation
this works like charm.

When I open 'Select users or groups' dialog on Xp pro and pressing 'Find
now' button (properties -> security -> Add... -> Advanced) the Windows asks
my username/password pair. Why is that? The share is already mounted, why I
have to give my password again? VISTA does not ask anything. This is annoying
but *real* problem is that I get list of users and groups very rarely.
Sometimes it works but usually it does not. One interesting point is that I
got user/group list every time if my server password is different than my
windows password! Even though I have to give my username/password every time.

I would appreciate any help.

Hello again,

For addition to my previous message the Windows Xp Professional actually
reports an error. If I leave out 'Built-in security pricipals' in 'Object
type' dialog I got followin error message:

"Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using
more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections
to the server or shared resource and try again."

Thanks again
