Setting 'Do not deliver before' field

Hi, I'm taking an extended vacation and want to leave reminders for my staff
to do certain tasks. If I send emails with a 'Do not deliver before' date and
time set for some time in the future, does Outlook have to be active to send
the reminder, or will the server activate it automatically?
Thanks

When you have an Exchange account as the default account and delivery
location you don't have to keep Outlook running. In all other cases you do.
As always; if you rely on it, test it first.

Don't you need to have Outlook running if it's Outlook 2003 in Cached Exchange mode? KB 918824

I was doubting about that actually but I guess you're right. IIRC the Outbox
folder doesn't synch by default. You can work around this by selecting the
Outbox folder to synch as well in the Send/Receive Options.

Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Setup-> button Send/Receive-> Edit...
