Setting default program to open file

D

Danger_Duck

Right now, all .txt, .java, .c, and .h files all open with notepad when I
double-click on them. Where do I go to choose what program opens such files
by default?

I can obviously right-click and do "open with"->(name of program), but since
I will probably NEVER use notepad and ALWAYS use a different text editor, I
would like to simply change what it opens by default.

Thanks!

Right-click on the file, click "Open With", click "Choose Program...". In
the Open With dialog, select the text editor program. If it's not listed,
click "Browse.." and locate the executable manually.

Place a checkmark near "Always use the selected program to open tihs kind of
file".

Click OK.
