When a new domain user logs onto a computer for the first time (and each
subsequent time), I want them to get the Always On power scheme (index 2).
If I set CurrentPowerPolicy=2 for .DEFAULT, exit regedit and create a
new local user, they always end up with power scheme index 1. I presume
the same thing will happen for domain users logging onto the workstation
for the first time.
Now, it's possible that things are working slightly differently on my
Dell laptop (Dell defines its own QUICKSET power schemes which increase
the number of indices from 6 to 10) and I plan to repeat this test on a
domain workstation running WinXP.
Any ideas why WinXP is ignoring the value set for CurrentPowerPolicy
with user .DEFAULT?
