Set up Outlook as default mail program instead of outlook express

Until now my default e-mail was outlook. When I would send an e-mail thru
Microsoft Word it would go thru Outlook. Now I tried sending an e-mail thru
Word and it opened up Outlook Express which I never configured or set up.
I checked the settings in Internet options and it's set to Outlook.
Can someone please help, thanks.

Go back into Internet Options and set it to Outlook Express > Apply > and
then back to Microsoft Outlook > Apply. This should be enough to force
windows to rewrite the necessary registry keys in regards to what is the
default e-mail program.

Thanks for your help. I didn't realize that for the changes to go into effect i had to close out of everything and restart, I did that now it works.
Just another question if i may. after i click the send button in Word, it
doesn't tell me if it was sent, and the messages don't come till a week later.
Thanks

You start/run Microsoft Outlook if you expect messages to be sent/received
under any type of delivery schedule.
