set up another file server

i have one dc in my network, later i cound another idle
server and wanting to add it to the same lan as a file
server.

may I ask if it is the same as what we add a computer to
the domain?
1st : install the w2k os
2nd : joint the domain
3rd : share out the folder and give the right to who even
need to access it?

4rd : close case
