set of folders could not be opened

Hi

I had a hotmail account in Outlook2003 and I moved the .pst file to a
different location. I also renamed it (which was propably a mistake). I
opened outlook and now when I click hotmail folder it says "set of folders
could not be opened".

I tried deleting it from the e-mail accounts (it's doesn't show there
anymore) but in the All mail folders window it still excists and gives this
error message. Any idea how to get rid of it?

Thanks!

Can you right click on the root of those folder and choose "Close"

I can click File -> Data file management and it shows this folder there too,
but it doesnt let me delete it from there either. It just tells me it
connected to an account and to go to Email accounts and delete it from
there. But the account is not there anymore...

Can you try to recreate the account and/or PST file then go through the
delete process again?

I have tried but outlook allows me to create two accounts with the same name
so the new one it creates I can delete but it has no effect on the one I can
not delete.

Do you know is there any way to manually remove these folders or accounts?

Also would it help if I reinstalled outlook2003?

Thanks for your help!

Reinstalling wouldn't help but setting up a fresh MAPI profile would
probably do the job

Can you tell me what MAPI profile is and/or where to find info how to do
this?

Thank you for your help, much appreaciated!

If you go to the Control Panel's Mail applet you can click the "Show
Profiles" button to display the profiles, create a new one and delete an
existing one. The profile contains pointers to your data files, your mail
account info, etc
