Set as desk top item created cubism art-type distortion of deskto

While online, I wanted to create a shortcut on the desktop. I right-clicked
the page and instead of clicking "create shortcut" I clicked "set as
desktop item".

A small white textured rectangle (same size as icon description) appeared
on my desktop. Shortly thereafter, the texture SPREAD over the entire Windows
XP background. The distorted picture is no longer "Bliss" but instead is
dizzying.

I don't know how to undo this. Tried redoing the resolution, changing
settings, and rebooting. Nothing helps.

If it matters, I had firewall turned on while this happened. Now it's off
again.

Hi,

Right click the desktop, choose properties. On the desktop tab, click on
customize. Go to the web tab, uncheck what's there.

Also, right click the desktop, click arrange icons by/lock web items to
uncheck it.

Thanks for your help. I also had to delete the web page that I accidentally
applied to the desktop. It's nice to see the original "Bliss" again, instead
of Picasso's version of it.
