services will not start after upgrade

After upgrading to XP Pro from XP Home, some services
cannot be started, they start and then immeadiately stop.
These are third party services and not native windows
services. Has anyone seen something similiar and has there
been a resolution?

You could try reinstallation, or a repair installation
if the third-party product provides it. During an upgrade
it is not uncommon for products that did not have a
registered migration dll to end up not installed or just
partially installed.

The product wasn't installed until after the upgrade and
has been re-installed several times, The manufacturers are
blaming the OS and don't seem particularly committed to
finding a resolution.

Well, if they did run in XP Home they should run in
XP Pro, since at the core these are the same.
What are the services, and, when you start / run
services.msc and go into the properties of them,
what are they set to use for startup account, and
startup mode ?
If the startup account is not one of the pre-existing
Windows principals, Local System, Local Service,
or Network Service, then in what groups is the
custom service account a member ?
