Hi,

On 2000 server is there a default setting (maybe this
should be a registry question-don't know) for how much
time a service has to start before it fails? I'm working
with a 3rd party application.
Also, is it possible to change this default setting
if it exists?

Not sure what you are asking here. A service can attempt to start and fail with notification. The time for that is about 1 or 2 mins.

If a service does start and then fails well that's a problem and is not supposed to happen so I assume there is nothing that is configurable in that case. Other then fixing the issue.
