Services missing from HKey_Local....please help!

Haveing problems and was told to look at:
HKey_local_machine\syswtem\currentcontrolset\services and the services is
missing! I was then told to go to a command prompt and use
%SystemRoot%\System32\Pstores.exe -install
but I cannot find a command prompt in Windows XP that mpty - they all either
open at C://Documents and Settings or something else...
Any help??

The Change directory command should work. Just type in the command prompt,

CD %SystemRoot%\System32
