Services.exe Running at 100%, Fully Patched Windows XP No Virus

One of my users has not updated his McAfee ASAP software and was
infected with w32sobig. I have cleaned the machine, but a second
occurrence of services.exe appears and disappeaers every few seconds
and causes the memory usage ro run up to 100%. I feel that there's a
virus somewhere, but the virus software application cannot find it and
I cannot locate any information on the McAfee site when using the
services.exe as a search criterion.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thank you!

Thank you for the information!

I downloaded and purchased SpyKiller and did find a number of spy ware
items, but the services.exe is still running every 5 seconds or so.

Any more suggestions short of formatting the hard drive?

Hi,

I tryed a hint from another forum which suggested a rename of the hosts
file if this is patched with a number of entries by Spybot software. It
seems that this helped me out in a similar situation as your described
one.
Good luck.
