Hello all,

I have change the settings of some Services in Administration Tools. When
I startup the machine again, the settings are not saved and back to the
old settings. How can I save the settings??

B.t.w. what is the connection between Services settings in Adm. Tools and
the Services settings in System Configuration Utility?

I work with Windows XP Pro with all updates and S.P. 2. I have
Administrator rights. I am the only user :)))

gr. Carley.

Can you give us an example of a specific service that you changed, and
what the change was that your made but which did not get saved? That
may help us to determine what is going wrong.

Good luck

Examples are the following services I have changed Server (Automatic),
Telephony (Manual), Performance Logs and Alerts (Manual), Network DDE
(Manual), Themes (Automatic) and so on. When restarted the PC, the
settings are "Disabled".
Do you have a suggestion??
Thank you, Carley.

Thank you, Carley.

I have no idea what could be causing that kind of a change in the
Services settings.

Standard suggestions would include checking for viruses, spyware and
other malicious crud with a variety of scanners and cleaners.

Good luck
