Services and Codecs required for Messenger Audio

I am having trouble getting audio conferences to actually send and receive
sound after the audio session is requested and accepted.
What services must be running and what codec's must be installed in what
folders for MSN Messenger audio to work properly on XP.

Could be many problems. Such as a NAT modem, a firewall, or a Router
configuration, could be your microphone/sound card is not working properly.
You will need to provide much more information as to your setup and
configuration in order to obtain a answer.

There are no routers, firewalls or NAT modems involved.
Both systems are running latest Messenger ...137 release.
Microphone and sound cards are fine since other audio communications
services
work fine between the systems.
My original question stands what services and codecs in what folders are
required for Messenger audio on XP? Can you provide the answer?
