I need to know if it's a way to burn the service pack 1
update to a cdrom for the purpose of transferring the
update to my computer with no internet access. Could
someone explain to me how to do this or if it is even
possible.

Thanks! Lorenzo

try using the windows update catalog. you can pick and choose what you
download, and i dont think it installs right away, usually in a msi package.

When you download windows updates, they are stored in
the Temporary Internet Files folder as applications.
Simply open this folder (select Tools/Internet
options/Settings/ViewFiles), copy and paste the updates
to separate files in a folder on your hard disk called
perhaps "WinXp updates", rename each update to its number
only. Now use CD burning software to copy all the Windows
updates to CD. As an OEM system builder, I provide all
the post-SP1 updates to them on a CD, and this has saved
my customers many hours of frustrating downloading.
Note, in my Windows updates folder, I have them organised
into Critical updates, other updates and drivers. I
number each update 001 883465, 002 897456, etc, so its
easy to install them in the order they were released,
although this is not always necessary.
