I am new at this and just reinstalled Windows 2000
Professional. I installed all the updates recommened in
Windows Service pack 4. Does that program help in
preventing the latest LovSan Worm? If not what do I have
to do to help prevent it? I installed Windows 2000
Professional and the Service pack 4 around July 16, 2003.I
do not know many of the technical that are used. Are there
any programs available through Microsoft that help prevent
worms or viruses? The reson I had to reinstall Windows
2000 was because my PC became corrupted. I don't want that
to happen again.

To make sure you have all the necessary fixes that Microsoft has put out for
customers, visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Click on "Scan for Updates"

Once the scan is done, you will see some fixes offered to you in the left
hand frame. If there is anything offered to you under the "Critical Updates
and Service Packs" category, install the fixes that are not service packs.
That will ensure you get the latest fixes issued by Microsoft for security
related issues.

Thanks
