Service Pack 4 uninstall failed

B

Bill

I tried to uninstall SP4 using the bat file in the uninstall directory.
When the uninstall process was copying original DLLs back, I noticed
periodically it said that a file could not be copied because it was in use.

When the process finished and I rebooted, it got just past the Windows
screen, but at this point, the computer shuts down and reboots again.

Does anyone know of an easy fix? I'm probably going to try a repair of
Windows 2000 and re-apply a Service Pack.

Thanks

That's meant to be run from the recovery console. Use Control Panel|Add/
Remove Programs

I got the computer back up and running by repairing the Windows 2000
installation and re-applying SP4. Next time I'll run
the uninstall from Control Panel

Thanks
