Service Pack 3 Problem

So I get access denied when trying to install sp3. I tried downloading it
directly to the my pc and run it still no luck. I have tried disabling my
anti-virus & spyware doctor, still no luck. Went to modify the registry but
can't back it up because system restore is missing from system properties,
and it won't run on its own using the command line from run. I went to
rename System Volume Information and reboot to try then. But I can't rename
it I get a message saying it's in use or the drive is write protected.
Anyone have any suggestions?

You may experiencing a profile corruption, try to create a new profile (as
Admin) and copy the data from one of these profile to the new and test to see
if it will work.

[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.

[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) and click Apply

I appreciate the tip. However it did not work, I still can't access system
restore under the new profile. It's not even an option in system properties.

what you mean an option in System properties?
Did you create the new Profile with admin Privileges?

Click Start >> All programs >> Accessories >> System tools >> System Restore
and pick up a restore point.

Do you get any error message?
Please send us your Error messages by following the steps below:
Open a Notepad, customize or minimize to the taskbar as you will need it
later for this step to copy the error message on it.
Open a run command and type in:
eventvwr.msc click [OK] you will get the Event viewer control Panel.
click on each of these:
Application
System
Security
Look in the right Pane/window for error message with red (X) or Yellow
exclamation mark /!\ , double click each one to get more info about the
causer.
On the Event error properties message you will see:
Up Arrow
Down arrow
Two pages
Click on the two pages to copy the error message then bring up the Notepad
you opened earlier and right click on the first line and select Paste from
the list, this will paste the error message on a Notepad.
Please don't duplicate the error message one of each kind will be sufficient.

option to turn system restore on/off is not available either.

Hopefully not being turned OFF all the way!!
Did the scan came out clean Joe?

If the above still din't help then I will be happy to help if you send me
the hijackthis log and also if there is/are any error messages in the Event
Viewer please let me know Here in this NG first then we can proceed with the
hijackthis if no error messages been logged into event viewer.

I can't run System Restore on either account. The spyware scan did come up
with items that were all removed. Anti-Virus picked something up in my
System Volume Information folder. Still same problem obviously. No errors
in even viewer other than just standard stuff from logging on and off.

I can't run System Restore on either account. The spyware scan did come up
