service pack 2

I downloaded SP2 from ms and my pc restarted and crashed
straight away.After rebooting and loading my backup disks
I bought a magazine with a service pack 2 on disc again
when I loaded sp2 onto my system it crashed. It is a new
computer witch already has sp1 installed and loads of
space free so why am I crashing... PLEASE HELP

Search MS XP site and this newsgroup for more suggestions (ie removal of
adware, spyware) before updating to SP2.

Also, what magazine had the SP2 update on it. I would like to see if I can
find it.
