When I go to the Windows Update site and my computer is
scanned for available critical updates the search reveals
no critical updates available. I am using service pack 1a
at the moment. Why isn't service pack 2 listed as a
critical download?

It's only been released on Windows Update for XP Home so far. XP Pro will
be released on the 25th supposedly.

The reason why I asked the question because on my
daughters computer the update site lists Service Pack 2
as an available critical update.

Thanks, That answers my question as I am running XP Pro
and my daughter is running XP Home

No problem. It's nice to be able to answer a question for a change. I'm
usually the one needing help.

A BOLD person would have searched all the headers prior to asking this
question, and noticed how many hundreds of times it's already been
answered, but since you seem to be too timid to do that:

If it's says it's not there, that means MS hasn't released it to the
WU site yet.

Just be patient. Well, I guess you can't. We established that in my
first paragraph.
