Service Pack 2 Problem

Hello all,

I am having an odd problem when I install Service Pack 2, everything seems
to be fine until I open my browser and type anything into the address bar
and nothing happens. I can go to web pages from links in emails or
selecting one from my favourites but nothing happens if I type in the
address?? Any suggestions. Also when I tried to open My Computer I just got
the shining torch icon for ages and ages and My Computer never opened.
Uninstalling Service Pack 2 put everything back to normal.

Hi

I know it's not much help, but If it aint broke then don't fix it applies
here me thinks.

In MHO I think it's best to apply SP2 after reformatting or a fresh install,
although it's supposed to make your system more stable and secure in my
experience it has been detremental on some of the software I use, and online
activities, I prefer to stick with SP1 and keep it up to date with Windows
updates. But no doubt someone may direct you to SP2 Q&A's or even sort it in
3 easy steps...Good luck.

Did you follow all of the steps involved in getting your system ready for
SP2?
My system does not act like yours; I have been on SP2 for several months now
with no problems whatsoever.
