Service pack 2 or 1 and 2?

As I am about to install XP again on my computer will the SP 2 cover all the
security issues and patches and updates including those in SP 1 or will I
have to install SP 1 first?

You don't have to install SP1 first as SP2 includes all the previous
Updates.

Look into creating a Slip-Streamed CD and you won't have to install any
packs.

I if you have a HP computer there are several down loads you have to do
between sp1 and sp2 they can't be done before installing sp1 and after sp2.

SP2 is comprehensive. The only thing SP1 would provide that SP2 does
not (and nor does SP1a) is the Microsoft Java Virtual machine, but there
are separate sources where you can get that
