Service Pack 1a, please help!

I downloaded SP1a and my computer has slowed down. How do remove SP1a? Do I need to?
I read on a post earlier this week that Service Pack 1a has known memory issues. Does anyone know if this is true? Is there a fix other than removing it? Thank

You do not want to remove SP1a since it contains security enhancements
that are important. Do the following:

1. Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Cleanup. Check the
boxes to remove Temporary files, Temporary Internet Files, any other
boxes except Compress Old files. This will clean out the junk files.

2. From the same folder run Disk Defragmentor. This might take a while
to run depending on the fragmentation level.

3. Restart

See if the computer runs better now. If you have 128MB or 256MB ram,
especially the former, consider adding additional to at least 256MB.

Check startup programs running. Start/Run command/type: msconfig.
Select the startup tab. Look at each program listed there and verify
that it should be running at startup and uncheck the box if it should
not be running. Use this site as a guide to what the startup programs
are and what they do:

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php

Go direct to the program listings from the "Programs" link just below
the word "Introduction".
