service pack 1a causes more problems than it fixed

ive installed sp1a on a clean install with no earlier hot fixes or anything,
installed my radeon 9800 drivers fresh from ati.com and im runnin xp pro its
as if sp1a turned all my games into a one-use-per-install kinda thing because
i can play them once MAYBE twice then they either dont start at all, pop in
the task manager list and disappear instantly or crash at their splash
screen, im getting very mad and cant get anything working right

Hi,

Why not install the newest Service Pack 2 instead of just
the SP 1a.. That might help resolve those issues.

Service pack 1a came out TWO YEARS AGO. There is nothing MS or anyone else
can do to protect you from your own lack of knowledge.
