I have downloaded SP1 four times now and, everytime the
installation completes, my ADSL Sagem Fast 800 stops
working, thus preventing me from accessing the web.
To get back onto the web I have to restore the system to
a time prior to the SP1 installation, then the modem
works again.

Can anyone tell me what the problem might be?

And I suppose it's too much to hope you've tried updating the driver before
you start? Yes, of course it is.
