Service is not running

when I publish a page with a search form on it and try to
submit a search, i get a page that says "Service is not
running". I cannot find any way to turn on
the "service". Any help would be most appreciated.

Contact your host. It is referring to Index Services, which they would need
to start and configure a catalog for your account.
