Service fails to start

Lowly Admin

I have a service "FACSys Fax Connector" that is configured
to auto-run with the domain administrator account. I
manually start it, but it stops within 30 seconds of
starting.

The event viewer states
"Source: Service Control Manager"
"Event ID: 7023"
"Description: The FACSys Fax Connector service terminated
with the following error: The service did not start due
to a logon failure"

I need it to be running all the time. Any assistance is
GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Why does it need to start with a "domain admin" account? Try a local
account.

I am not sure why it needs to start with a domain admin
account other than it is a connector from our Fax Server
to our Exchange server. I changed it to a local
administrator account with the same results. Failed to
start due to a logon failure.

Add the user account to;
"Log on as a service"
and possibly remove the account from
"Deny log on as a service"

Hi,

Make user that that username and the account is still enabled on the
server. Also, try to check to see if there is any issue with Computer
account in the domain (was the computer moved into a different
network?)

You can also submit a trouble ticket at

Checked that the user accounts are listed in "Log on as a
service", verified that they don't exist in "Deny log on
as a service". Just for giggles, I defined them in
Domain Security Policy under "Log on as a service" (there
was nothing listed under Domain Security Policy).

I tried starting the service again with the same results
(the service failed to start with a logon failure).
However, I get some additional messages in the system
log, and am not sure they are related.

When you view the logged events in Event Viewer in the upper right corner,
third button down is a copy to clipboard, then you can paste in the body of
a reply message.

Please do so for all system events so we can see all of the event detail.

What was the result of Q263142?

Was this ever working? If so you might see if you can correlate the events
with something that was installed or reconfigured. This may also help.
