Server2003 lost network connectivity after spk1

After installing Server2003 spk1 I lost network connectivity. Why?

It's a Active Directory, DHC,P File & Domain server.

I re-installed the network card drv but one note though: I didn’t take note
of the IP (blond?). I gave it a new IP, but the local area connection status
just says "acquiring network address..." instead of "ENABLED". Tried another
switch point and even see a linklight on my NIC. Hardware seems fine (Also
re-installed drv).

Any ideas? Why oh why? Please help me. Thanks.

Notes:
- Can I uninstall spk1? Implications?
- I would have re-installed DHCP or something, but the status doesn't say
ENABLED in Network Connections....

1. have you assign static IP to the server?
2. Have you enabled the windows firewall?

Hi Rob. No Firewall. The server has a static IP yeh. I have made sure that
the IP I am using is not in use by another pc. Performed PING test before I
assigned the IP. Can I remove spk1 or will there be any serious implications,
or do you have another suggestion?

Appreciate the help.

Windows firewall cannot "enable" because of the following error: Error -
Windows firewall cannot run because another program or service is running
that might use the network address translation component "IPNAT.sys) I
don't knoiw what this means? Perhaps this could be causing the problem?

Might be usefull too:
- The network conenction status now says "connected"
- Suspicious Event ID 1110 is in the eventlog (don't know what this means
either?)

Any suggestions.

Thanx again.

Jo
