Since I upgraded my Web Server from NT4 to W2K - When a client computer tries
updating a web page on a server side web - takes 30 sec's or longer then
"Server timed out" - click ok - second error shows author doesn't have
permission. We are using NTFS permissions only.

Not sure what happened during the OS upgrade. but things are messed! HELP!

Windows 2000 use a different method for handling HD and NTFS Permissions and when you upgrade it
tries to allow you to continue using the older method of NT Permissions, in many cases this will
work without problems, unless you have to replace a HD, in which case you then have problems.

The problem is that your server is using to different method of handle NTFS permissions (NT4 and
Windows 2000). You should post the Windows Server newsgroup, as the only solution that I know of is
to reformat and install Windows 2000 fresh, then republish all web back to it.
