server shared directory

I have a win2k sp3 server on a domain. When I access the
server by using \\server\share from another server or
workstation the share doesnt come up on the first time.
If I make a shortcut to the share I sometimes have to
double click twice to access it.

What could this be? I have nothing in the event logs and
dont see any issues on the server.

ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!

What message do you get the first time and/or what happens?
