Server not found or DSN error

I just purchased a HP Computer and I was able to surf the
web with no problem until a month ago. Currently I am
able to connect to my ISP but every time I type in a URL
address even one as common as www.yahoo.com I received
message "Server not found or DSN error" I connected to
my ISP using a CD and the CD worked in other computer and
I was able to surf the the web on other using the same
ISP. I deleted my profile and created new profile. I ran
spybot to get rid of spywares. I reset all my internet
setting. Still I could not solve the problem. Please
help

Did you remove any spyware from your machine. I know Ihad an issue with one
of the sleezeballs where if you removed their files from your machine, it
rendered IE useless.
