Server Migration

I have a (My only server) old server running Windows 2000 Advance Server. I am now going to replace that server with a new server running the same (Windows 2000 Advance Server) operating system. Once the software is installed on my new server! How do I migrate the the new server into production?
I have seen some information online about promoting and demoting domain controllers. Also, I have seen information about Installing the First Domain Controller in a New Fores
Installing the First Domain Controller in an Existing Fores
Installing the First Domain Controller in a New Child Domai
Installing an Additionally Domain Controller for an Existing Domain etc.
Well, I am not exactly sure which one I am doing. But having said all this any information from you guys will be grateful. Thanks! TAS!

That would depend on if you are changing the domain name and if you want the
new server to have the same name as the old server?
